MultiValue database environments dramatically improve software development labor productivity.

Especially when combined with appropriate 4GL products and other tools, complete MultiValue applications can be developed in as little as 1/100th the time that would be required to develop the same in traditional tools such as VB, Cobol, or other toolsets. Similarly, MultiValue toolsets are easy to learn, and the vast majority of practitioners are self-taught.

Historically, about 90% of projects begun in MultiValue eventually are used, a much higher completion rate than the computer-industry's overall average of around 60%.

Our initiative takes MultiValue to its next stage, though three significant innovations:

1.	Assuring that the database and toolset solution combinations are available at the the entry-level prices for non-MultiValue database engines. Historically, such engines have been priced 7 times higher than competing engines.
2.	Encouraging the rapid evolution and adoption of new labor-saving technologies, including Tri-Mode 4GLs, direct-web interfaces, and intelligent emulators.
3.	The creation of an open source model for free do-it-yourself use, as well as a social approach as well as distribution and service system that makes such products readily available worldwide.
